* THROWBACK MUSIC VIDEO: MeLo-X ft. Paul McCartney & Erykah Badu "Gone Baby"
iLove* reminisces back to a couple years ago to this MeLo-X classic. The production of this track is way too ill to pass by.
MeLo-X aka Mustafa debuts his first music video "Gone Baby" co-starring the Lovely FolaSade. Here he revisits that timeless encounter between himself and FolaSade as they make music in Bed. Directed by Jesse Boykins III & The Light Up Film team. All visuals and music were created in Brooklyn. (youtube.com)

More on DIGGS DUKE, while we've touched the subject with Gilles - let's connect the dots to fulfill any curiosity you may have.
The sound of Diggs Duke's music can best be characterized as a fresh, yet familiar interpretation of the bond between Soul and Jazz. Within the last year, the American vocalist, instrumentalist and composer has released a steady stream of quality music that's been dominating playlists from LA to Indonesia. Shortly after the release of his debut EP, “Gravity,” as well as several ambitious singles, the music was swiftly placed into the rotation of taste-makers across the US and Europe, including Gilles Peterson in the UK and Lefto in Brussels.
Mentored by alumni of the bands of Max Roach, Cecil Taylor and Frank Foster, Duke's jazz ideals blend well with the Hip-Hop, R&B and Latin music of a 90's upbringing. The result is a stellar mix of raspy vocals, fascinating horn arrangements and adventurous song forms, never losing sight of the perfect groove. (soundcloud.com/diggsduke)

* ALBUM COVER LOVE. . .
Every month iLove features album cover art from the past & present to appreciate how art and music go hand in hand.
Night Clubbing, released on May 11, 1981
was Grace Jones chart breakthrough album.
It entered top 5 in no less than four countries, and became the singer's highest-charting record on the U.S. Billboard mainstream albums and R&B charts. The album brought Jones from being a former disco diva with a loyal cult following but dropping sales figures to an international star with mainstream chart success.
The Nightclubbing album cover is one of the most memorable images of Grace Jones. Actually a painting, based on a previously taken photograph, both by Jean-Paul Goude, it presents Jones posing as a man, wearing an Armani jacket and holding a cigarette in her mouth. The look is complete with her trademark flattop haircut.
