WHO IS DJ HEYLOVE*. . .
DJ heyLove* grew up in the Bay Area surrounded by different cultures, ethnicities, & art.
Influenced by this diversity she developed a love for variety, which is reflected in her taste for music.
Attracted to different rhythms and how they make the mind, body, and soul feel, heyLove* is naturally drawn to artists from the past and present like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Fela Kuti, Erykah Badu, Pharrell Williams, J Dilla, Kanye West, AtJazz, Omar, & Anderson Paak.
You'll hear jazz, R&B, downtempo, broken beat, house, bossa nova, afro beat & hip-hop in her collection. "There should be no genre lines in music", heyLove* explains her mixes reflect a "music head" who appreciates the finer melodies in life.
DJ heyLove* has shared the stage with artists such as the Robert Glasper Experiment, the Funky Meters, Esperanza Spalding, Emily King, DaM-FunK, Kendra Morris, Slum Village, Shabazz Palaces, & Mark Farina.
